Heavy copper PCB or thick copper PCB features a finished copper weight of more than 3oz per ft² (140μm), compared to the 1oz per ft² (35μm) or 2oz per ft² (70μm) copper weight generally found in those with a standard PCB copper thickness. 

Heavy copper PCBs are used extensively in power electronic devices and power supply systems due to being capable of resisting higher temperatures for longer periods while handling higher rates of electrical current and providing stronger connection points.
